Nila
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Your data stays on your device
Nila is a local-first app. Your check-ins, notes, mood entries, and conversations are stored only on this device, in an encrypted database. We do not require an account, and we do not keep a copy of your entries on our servers.
When you chat with the assistant
To generate a reply, the message you send and a small amount of recent conversation context are transmitted over an encrypted connection to our processing service, which forwards it to our AI model provider (DeepSeek). This is used only to produce your response. We do not attach your name or contact details to these requests.
What we do NOT do
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not use your entries to build advertising profiles.
Deleting your data
You can erase everything at any time: Settings → “Delete all my data”. This permanently removes your entries, conversations, and history from this device. Because your data lives on your device, uninstalling the app also removes it.
Not a medical or crisis service
Nila is a self-reflection tool, not a medical device, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis or may harm yourself, contact local emergency services now. In the U.S. you can call or text 988. You can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com.
Children
Nila is not directed to children and is intended for adults.
